Sr Advanced Project Engineer - Integrated Propulsion Systems

Job Description

Honeywell Aerospace is advancing the next generation of propulsion technologies for business aviation, and we’re looking for a project engineer who is eager to take on high‑visibility efforts spanning the full engine lifecycle—from concept and development to certification, production, and fleet sustainment.

We are seeking a Senior Advanced Project Engineer with proven experience in gas-turbine engines, nacelle integration, and powerplant installation to support effective execution across the HTF7000 turbofan engine family. If you excel at coordinating complex technical activities, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and managing technical and program risks, this role offers the chance to shape a best-in-class propulsion product line.

As a Senior Advanced Project Engineer, you’ll work closely with world-class engineering and business teams, suppliers, and aircraft OEM partners to ensure disciplined program performance and seamless propulsion system integration throughout every phase of the lifecycle.

You will report to Sr Engineering Program Manager and work out of Phoenix, AZ on hybrid work schedule.

Note: New Hires are required to work onsite for the first 90 days.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of development and sustainment projects to meet scope, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of cross‑functional engineering teams through design, analysis, test, certification, and production.
  • Partner with aircraft OEMs to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and maintain alignment with program objectives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on technical scope, deliverables, configuration, and schedule expectations; support trade studies and issue resolution.
  • Maintain system-level requirements, interfaces, configuration control, and documentation for the integrated powerplant system.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and drive timely corrective actions for production and field issues.
  • Own cost accounts and manage budgets, forecasts, resource fill rates, and earned value performance.
  • Identify program risks and opportunities and develop mitigation plans to improve technical, schedule, or cost outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Present technical status and recommendations to leadership and customers; support formal program reviews.


Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in design, development and/or test of gas turbine engines, nacelle systems, engine control systems or other complex mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methods (e.g. Microsoft Project, Agile Scrum/Kanban, Earned Value Management System)

  • Deep knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 33 and Part 25 engine and nacelle certification.
  • Direct experience with root-cause investigations, cost reduction, or new product development.
  • Systems engineering and requirements management experience across hardware and software teams.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for winning and urgency in execution.
