A Brief Overview

The Analytical Quality Lab Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the analytical laboratory, ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and accurate, timely test results. This role supervises laboratory technicians, coordinates testing activities, and supports quality investigations. The Supervisor ensures adherence to established procedures, supports staff development, and maintains effective communication with internal teams and clients.

What you will do

  • Supervise laboratory chemists and technicians, ensuring adherence to SOPs, GLPs, and testing procedures. Oversee sample flow, documentation, and review laboratory results for accuracy and completeness prior to escalation or final approval.
  • Support daily staffing coordination and scheduling based on lab workload. Assist in training new hires and cross-training existing staff. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback; support performance evaluations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Execute and oversee analytical testing for raw materials, bulk, and finished goods. Monitor test results, identify deviations, and support investigations including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure availability of supplies.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and assist with client inquiries regarding test results. Maintain accurate laboratory records, training documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing laboratory safety procedures
  • Provide hands-on technical support with laboratory equipment and methods
  • Assist Quality Manager with audits, reporting, and compliance activities
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization efforts


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, or related science field (Required)


Experience Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of relevant laboratory experience (Required)
  • 1-3 years of supervisory or lead experience (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and GLPs (High proficiency)
  • Analytical / microbiological testing procedures (High proficiency)
  • Laboratory quality control processes and documentation (High proficiency)
  • Communication skills (internal team + cross-functional) (High proficiency)
  • Root cause analysis and CAPA support (Medium proficiency)
