Structural Analysis Engineer II

The Legacy Engines and APU Structures Group within the Component Design & Analysis (CDA) directorate is responsible for the design, development and analysis of static gas turbine engine components. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing strength, fatigue, containment, heat transfer, and various other types of stress analyses. Other responsibilities include test support, communicating with Project engineering teams, resource and manpower planning, conduction of design reviews, presentations to internal and external customers, ensuring proper documentation of work performed and engaging in department process improvement initiatives.

You will work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

  • Perform stress analysis using complex finite element & classical book calculation methods, & support testing
  • Manpower/task/schedule planning
  • Project Coordination
  • Project and product compliance
  • Risk management
  • Process Development
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action


Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing structural analysis on gas turbine engines
  • Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software & classical hand calculation methods
