As a Principal Project Engineer (PPE) for Honeywell Anthem, you will serve as a senior hardware technical execution leader for complex, high-visibility customer and platform programs. You will be accountable for end-to-end technical, cost, schedule, and risk ownership across multiple hardware LRUs, while shaping program strategy and execution standards across the Anthem portfolio. You will drive strategy and cohesive tactical execution across a team of Lead Project Engineers in conjunction with Program Management, Product Management, Certification, Supply Chain, and Customers to deliver world-class avionics solutions.

You will report to a Next-Gen Avionics Engineering Directors and work out of our North Phoenix, Arizona location.


Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program & Technical Leadership
  • Own technical, cost, schedule, and risk performance across multiple integrated systems and workstreams
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to Lead Project Engineers
  • Ensure compliance with certification, regulatory, and customer requirements

Project Planning & Execution
  • Align customer requirements with system architecture and executable technical/program plans to ensure cohesive delivery across the full development and certification lifecycle.
  • Define and govern program execution strategy, including work package structure, sequencing, dependencies, and disciplined management of risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and decisions clearly to executive leadership and customers to drive alignment and informed decision-making.


Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
  • 12+ years of relevant engineering experience

WE VALUE:
  • Experience with integrated avionics systems and complex system-of-systems architectures
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, certification standards, and compliance processes for hardware
  • Business acumen, including familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and program financials
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, multi-disciplinary engineering programs
  • Strong ability to operate with minimal supervision and make high-impact decisions
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong understanding of change management and configuration management
