Description

The Group Home Manager oversees residential operations, staff coordination, and service quality within a group home setting. This role ensures the home environment is safe, person-centered, and aligned with individualized supports and daily living needs. Key Responsibilities Manage daily residential operations, staffing coordination, and home routines. Oversee implementation of individualized support plans and residential services. Monitor documentation, household needs, schedules, and service quality. Support staff direction, coaching, and day-to-day problem-solving. Coordinate communication with families, nurses, providers, and leadership. Help ensure a safe, clean, and respectful home environment. Address incidents, follow-up needs, and operational issues within the residence. Promote stability, dignity, and quality of life for residents served.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field is preferred, or H.S. Diploma/GED equivalency with
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities in an equivalent combination of experience and training is acceptable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational competence required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Alabama driver's license are required and must be insurable by the agency insurance.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Working Conditions:
  • Frequent standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and speaking and listening.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.
  • Some duties may require protective gloves
