| Job Summary | Build What Matters in Enterprise Applications The University of Kentucky is seeking a Software Developer II (Mobile, Portal & Web Applications) to join our Enterprise Applications team within Information Technology Services. This position is part of UK’s evolving IT strategy and will report through the Technology Services department in Beyond Blue effective July 1, 2026. This role sits at the intersection of technology, user experience, and enterprise systems, supporting applications that power critical university operations and enhance how students, faculty, and staff interact with UK systems. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web and mobile applications, integrating systems such as ERP platforms and data services, and helping deliver solutions that improve both efficiency and user experience across the university. | Preferred Education/Experience | Expertise in most of the following: Visual Studio, Source Control: TFS/Git/GitHub, WCF, Web API (MS ASP.Net), .Net Framework, Web Services, JSON, SOAP, REST; 5+ years of experience in Software Development using Object Oriented Programming using C#, Java; 5+ years of MS SQL and RDBMS; 3+ years of experience successfully developing applications using Microsoft technologies like WCF, ASP.NET, REST; 2+ years of experience in building REST services ASP.NET Web API; 3+ years of JQuery, JavaScript and XML; Passionate about leveraging technology to build products that “wow” users; Operations / SysAdmin experience (Windows, MS SQL, IIS); Strong knowledge of web architecture/design and web best practices; Demonstrated strong ability to interpret requirements and design solutions to fit those requirements. Five years of related experience preferred. |
