PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons including surveillance, accident prevention and rescues in the water, adjacent pool areas, and the Tiernan Field House.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
One or more years lifeguarding experience preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATES:
Current certification in Lifeguarding from the American Red Cross or equivalent.
Current certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid from the American Red Cross or equivalent.
OTHER:
HOURS, CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:
The College is seeking to fill numerous positions for coverage during the pool operations in the summer months. These are temporary, non-benefits-eligible, part-time, non-exempt positions.
Hours will vary due to the needs of the College or department. This position requires that the employee is able to cover other shifts, and work weekends and after-hours as needed by the College. These positions are expected to end on or before September 1, 2026.
Hourly rate: $17.15. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

None.
