Advanced Project Engineer/Value Engineering

Job Description

As an Advanced Project Engineer/Value Engineering here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will lead and manage complex engineering projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. The Advanced Project Engineer is responsible for developing cost-reduction initiatives on electrical or mechanical aerospace products aligned to the assigned Gold Business Enterprise (GBE). This requires extensive coordination, negotiation, and partnering with Engineering, Program Management, and other functions within the Integrated Supply Chain.

In this role, you will impact the company's success by coordinating cross-functional teams, monitoring project progress, and maintaining adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

You will report directly to our Engineering Program Management Director and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in electrical Value Engineering and strategic cost-takeout projects aligned with business and GBE plans.
  • Conduct engineering-driven workshops and product line deep dives to identify new cost-takeout ideas. Execute the Value Engineering process and ensure consistent application across all projects
  • Provide technical support to current Value Engineering projects in execution to improve product cost, producibility, and yield
  • Aligns with Materials Management to achieve synergies in cost-takeout efforts to ensure that strategic business roadmaps are followed
  • Develop short, medium- and long-term projects through deep dives and supplier workshops to maintain a portfolio of potential projects to support AOP and STRAP planning for CPE
  • Develop and maintain required reporting templates and tools to support project reviews, Management Operating Reviews, and clearinghouses as needed
  • Work closely with manufacturing and sourcing, engineering, Honeywell senior executives, program managers, and customer business team to maximize the return on investment of the projects.
  • Translate customer and business needs into actionable product requirements.
  • Act as CPE focal in GBE Meetings. Support their strategies and execute their MOS.
  • Travel: up to 10%


Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • 3+ years’ experience of Program Management in Integrated Supply Chain
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Extensive relevant manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience performing product manufacturing cost analysis
  • Ability to understand and establish priorities in a complex and demanding environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
