Main Responsibilities, Requirements, and Competencies
Essential Functions of Job:
• Provide direct input to the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) by doing the following:
• Provide manufacturing feasibility assessments for product design, engineering changes, scope changes and quality concerns.
• Project manage the procurement and acceptance of required equipment & tooling.
• Facilitate the implementation of production equipment/tooling into the manufacturing facility and any corresponding technical training.
• Complete Process FMEA and manage RPN risks.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Assess the product, process, equipment and tooling strategies for potential ergonomic concerns and manage action items to resolve.
• Support customer part needs through pilot, testing, run-at-rate and internal process sign offs.
• Create and support continuous improvement projects.

Specific Requirements
Required Education Level Bachelor's Level Degree
Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering
Plastics or Engineering Technology required (BSME or BSMET or similar)
*Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)
5-9 Minimum Years of Experience
3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, or similar
Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)
• Experience in Automotive/Manufacturing (Tier One Automotive interiors experience preferred, not required)
• Candidates must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance.
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical problem solving
• Work flow, line balance and takt time
• Experience with AutoCAD
• DOE and data driven studies experience
• Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Improvement training or experience
• Candidates must demonstrate technical and project management skills
• Familiar with entire product life including development, launch and production.
• Understands and demonstrates ability to work with and improve documented manufacturing standards

Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Requirements
☐ People Leaders/Managers and above and EHS Professionals must be certified on EHS Management Systems (e.g. EMS, OHSMS)
☐ EHS Professionals, YFIMS (EHS Principle) Auditors must be designated and certified as an EHS Internal Auditor
☐ Designated EHS Critical Roles must be certified (such as Plant Manager, EHS Professional, Operations Manager, Equipment / Maintenance / Facility Manager, Logistics Manager, Team Leader / Supervisor, Others)
☐ Technicians/Operators of High Risk Equipment must be certified before operating (forklift, overhead crane, etc)
☐ Technicians/Operators of High Risk Activity (Electrician, Welding, etc.) must be certified to meet specific EHS Qualifications including legal requirements
Quality Management System (e.g. IATF16949) Requirements
☐ People Leaders/Managers and above, Quality Professionals and Quality personnel (eg. AME, ME, PE etc.).
☐ All Internal Auditors* (Including Quality System Auditor*, Process Auditor* and Product Auditors*)
☐ All product critical characteristic knowledge and legal requirements for product apply to Product Safety Personnel (e.g. Safety Parts Engineer, Operator, Inspector, etc.)
☐ Color/Appearance Evaluation – Apply to Color Evaluation personnel (e.g. Appearance Engineer, Operator, Inspector, etc.)
☒ Product Safety – Apply to the person who requires product safety knowledge (e.g. Safety Parts Engineer, Buyer, Operator, Inspector, Advanced Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, etc.)
