Tatnall is seeking a dynamic and passionate Upper School Spanish teacher with the ability to teach Spanish from the beginner to advanced levels. The ideal candidate brings deep content knowledge, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine passion for teaching and connecting with students. They will foster a welcoming, inclusive, and intellectually engaging student-centered classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach 3 sections of Spanish
A Tatnall Teacher:
Demonstrates a student-centered approach to education
Designs and implements engaging lessons that develop critical thinking and real-world connections
Builds strong relationships with students and creates a supportive and positive classroom environment
Provides clear, timely feedback to support student growth
Shares a commitment for diversity, equity, and community through culturally responsive and identity-affirming practices
Works closely and collegially with students, faculty, administrators, and parents in a lively independent school setting.
Participates fully in ongoing reflection, professional development, and collaboration with department members
Qualifications and skills:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Three or more years of teaching experience is preferred; strong early career candidates will be considered, and mentorship is available
Experience working with diverse groups of students and an appreciation for a range of learning styles
Excellent written and oral communication skills
