Lead Floor Technician

Job Description

Position Summary

Assist Floor Technician Supervisor with training assocaites in the performance of floor care duties and perform floor stripping/waxing as requested by the Multi-Site Manager, Sr. Manager or Director.

Essential Duties(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)

1. Assist Floor Technician Supervisor with directing floor care team ensuring tasks are completed and high quality standards achieved. When the supervisor is absent, cover their shift and be able to manage their daily tasks.

2. Assist Floor Technician Supervisor with training assocaites in floor care and janitorial skills, proper cleaning techniques and schedules, usage and conservation of supplies, operation of equipment, safety practices, and other company rules and regulations.

3. Drive company van/truck to transport equipment to offsite work areas.

4. Reponsible for floor work at Goodwill sites throught the Richmond area according to schedule established by manager. This includes dust mopping , wet mopping , stripping and waxing, buffing, carpet extraction and other floor care duties as needed.

5. Monitor the use of supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.

6. Clean floor equipment after each use and perform routine maintenance as needed. Notify Supervisor of any equipment needed repair.

7. May be required to perform the following on an as needed basis; dusting, restroom cleaning.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.
Eduation/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance

• High School Diploma / GED not required.

• 2 Years' experience in a related field required.

• No professional certifications are required for this position.

• Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.

• Associates in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check and sex offender check.

• No computer skills are required.

This associate may have access to Confidential Information (CI) and is required to be familiar with the Goodwill policy 11.01 Confidentiality of Data related to the handling of CI, and follow all related procedures required to protect the privacy and security of CI.
Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions

• The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

• The associate works in a moderate work environment with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).

• The associate is required to travel throughout the Goodwill service area.

• The associate may be required to provide assistance with snow removal.

• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.

• Assists in special jobs, during scheduled work hours and on weekends, as requested by manager.
