The
Thunderbolt Platform & Customer Tools – Software is a core engineering organization within
Honeywell Aerospace Technologies that develops and maintains the
foundational software platforms used across Honeywell’s aerospace products. This team builds the common, reusable, and safety‑critical software components that enable product and application teams to deliver advanced avionics, mission‑critical, and flight‑certified systems for commercial, defense, and space customers worldwide.
The Platform COE focuses on
low‑level and system software, including platform architecture, middleware, device drivers, networking stacks, and real‑time operating system (RTOS) integration. These software platforms support a wide range of aerospace applications such as
avionics and mission computers, guidance and navigation systems, satellite payload processing, and other flight‑critical embedded systems. Because these platforms are used across multiple programs and products, the team plays a key role in improving software quality, scalability, reuse, and compliance with aerospace safety and certification standards.
About the Role – Lead Project Engineer As a
Lead Project Engineer, you will support the Platform COE (Software) by leading complex engineering projects that span multiple software and hardware development teams. You will coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders, manage project scope, schedules, risks, and execution, and ensure that platform software initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with Aerospace business priorities.
In this role, you will help enable the successful delivery of foundational software platforms that are used by product teams across Honeywell Aerospace. Your work will directly contribute to the development of safe, reliable, and certifiable aerospace systems that are deployed on aircraft and space platforms around the world.
