(Diocesan Channels Content Creator) 

About the Role 

The Diocese of Fort Wayne–South Bend is seeking a creative storyteller to help share the life of the Church in a compelling, authentic, and mission-driven way. 

The Social Media Manager, working primarily as a Content Creator, is responsible for capturing and communicating the stories of the diocese—through photo, video, and written content across digital platforms. 

This role is ideal for someone who is both creative and disciplined: someone who can recognize meaningful moments, capture them well, and translate them into content that is beautiful, captivating, and shareable in an evangelizing way. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Create and manage content for diocesan social media channels (including Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms as needed) 
  • Capture photo and video content at diocesan events, parish visits, and key moments across the life of the Church  
  • Develop and execute a consistent, mission-driven content rhythm  
  • Write clear, engaging captions and short-form content that reflects the voice and priorities of the diocese  
  • Collaborate with the Secretary for Communications and other team members to support campaigns and initiatives  
  • Help amplify the voice and presence of the bishop, diocesan initiatives, and the work of diocesan ministries 
  • Edit and deliver content in a timely manner, often within short turnaround windows  

 

What We’re Looking For 

  • A deep love for the Catholic Church and a desire to evangelize through storytelling 
  • Strong creative instincts and an eye for meaningful, human moments  
  • Experience or demonstrated ability in photography, video, and/or digital content creation 
  • Solid writing skills and attention to tone and voice 
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities  
  • Comfort with digital platforms and basic editing tools  
  • Flexibility and willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to capture events  
  • A desire to grow creatively and professionally within a mission-driven environment

  • Content that is timely, engaging, and rooted in real moments of the Church’s life 
  • Strong visual and narrative storytelling across platforms  
  • Increased reach and engagement, especially among young adults  
  • The bishop’s voice and presence are communicated clearly and effectively  

 

Position Details 

  • Full-Time Position
  • Reports to: Secretary for Communications  
  • Location: Mishawaka or Fort Wayne, IN (in-person role; travel across the diocese required) 
  • Schedule: Flexible, with time in the field capturing events (including some evenings/weekends)  
  • Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience (up to ~$60,000) 
  • This role is designed for an early-career professional (1–5 years experience), with strong potential for growth
