In collaboration with the business unit, the Sr. Training Specialist will be responsible for the overall portfolio of training programs and courses for desk personnel and clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Training, HR or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Required
- M. Ed. in Instructional Design, Education, Training, HR or related field. Preferred
- 5-10 years' experience leading theory and technical training in a corporate/business environment. Experience in development and delivery of leadership, customer service and developmental programs (Presentations Skills, Assertiveness, Business Writing, Time Management, etc.) is essential.
- Expert knowledge of insurance principles, terminology, customs and practices.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate expert experience with the basics of curriculum development
- Ability to quickly learn and use new technologies to design and deliver training.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Good organizational ability, including time management.
- Project management experience.
- eLearning courses design and development experience
- Very strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Crawford products and services through continuous collaboration with the business unit.
- Ability to create an environment conducive to learning.
- Excellent Microsoft Suite knowledge.
- Maintenance of certification and/or licensing in field; continuing education courses when required.
- Must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services.
- Position requires less than 10% travel.
- Independently research, design and develop training programs to support the business's strategic initiatives. Designs, develops and facilitates presentations. Develops competency models as needed.
- Facilitates and leads training classes using chosen training methods and techniques
- Decides the appropriate instructional method for each training topic. (i.e. individual training, group instruction, case studies, demonstrations, webinars, teleconferences, eLearning etc.)
- Develops and administers quizzes, exams, and post training evaluation surveys
- Communicates results and ROI (return on investment) analyses to appropriate leadership
- Reviews and updates existing courses based on industry changes and participant feedback. Manages training trackers, CEU (continuing education unit), and accreditation process
- Partners with business unit leadership, managers, subject matter experts and guest presenters to develop, approve and manage the annual calendar of continuing educational offerings
- Maintains library of current resource materials for employee training
- Participates in industry and professional organizations to stay up-to-date with knowledge, trends and competitor training techniques
- Participates in quality audits to support employees and the business's strategic initiatives
- Develops and conducts retraining sessions when performance falls below specified standards
- Serves as a subject matter expert as needed
- Provides on-going mentoring and coaching as needed
- Develops competency models as needed
