SUMMARY Under limited supervision, performs a broad range of material handling, inventory control, and shipping/receiving activities to support production and business operations. Material Handler II serves as a key resource within the stockroom and shipping functions, ensuring inventory accuracy, driving process improvements, and assisting in training lower-level personnel. This role requires strong working knowledge of warehouse systems, procedures, and cross-functional coordination. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Execute all Material Handler I responsibilities with a higher level of accuracy, efficiency, and independence. Maintain inventory integrity through cycle counting, root cause analysis of discrepancies, and corrective actions. Investigate, reconcile, and resolve inventory variances with minimal supervision. Coordinate material movement across departments including production, inspection, outside processing, and shipping. Prioritize and expedite material requests to support production schedules and customer commitments. Ensure accurate system transactions for all inventory movements (receipts, issues, transfers, and shipments). Review and validate work orders, blue cards, and system data to ensure alignment and traceability. Oversee packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation to ensure compliance with customer and carrier requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve inbound/outbound shipment issues, including carrier discrepancies and delays. Operate and troubleshoot warehouse equipment (e.g., scales, bagging machines, barcode systems). Train and mentor Material Handler I employees on processes, systems, and best practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control, layout optimization, and process flow. Assist in maintaining organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards in stockroom and shipping areas. Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Planning, Quality, and Manufacturing to resolve material-related issues. Generate reports and provide data to support inventory audits, KPIs, and management reviews. Ensure compliance with internal controls, safety standards, and company policies. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE 2-3 years of stockroom, warehouse, or material handling experience. Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and discrepancy resolution required. Prior experience in a manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment preferred. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Conversational in any other language is a plus. JOB SKILLS Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations. Ability to identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements (not just spot problems—fix them). Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and warehouse transactions. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment without dropping the ball. Solid problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset. Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization. High attention to detail and accountability for results. Flexibility to support overtime, including evenings or weekends as needed. Ability to lift 50 lbs., with frequent standing, walking, and system use. PHYSICAL DEMANDS As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing protection in specific locations. Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas. SALARY INFORMATION: According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $18 and $21 hourly/annually. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline.
