Sheet Metal Worker - Level 2 (FAA)

Job Description

As a Sheet Metal Worker Level 2 (FAA) here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products with skill and accuracy. You will work with blueprints and technical drawings to produce metal components that meet quality standards and support manufacturing operations.

You will report directly to our Production Supervisor and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on an on-site work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the manufacturing process by delivering high-quality sheet metal products that contribute to Honeywell’s commitment to precision and operational excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products according to specifications and blueprints
  • Install and repair sheet metal products and equipment
  • Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and form sheet metal
  • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production processes


Qualifications
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal parts and products according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as shears, brakes, and rollers to shape and form metal components.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve fabrication issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

    FAA REQUIREMENTS:

  • All applicants for placement in DOT/FAA safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test, testing for Marijuana, Cocaine, Amphetamines (amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDMA, MDA), Phencyclidine (PCP), and Opioids (codeine, heroin, morphine, oxycodone, oxymorphone, hydrocodone, hydromorphone). The DOT/FAA regulations require all employees, regular and temporary, in safety-sensitive positions, to be included in the Honeywell Anti-drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan.


YOU MUST HAVE
  • Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and installation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce accurate metal components.
  • Experience operating sheet metal tools and machinery such as shears, brakes, rollers, and welding equipment.
  • Ability to inspect and measure finished products to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in handling and fabricating sheet metal materials.


WE VALUE
  • Technical certification or apprenticeship completion in sheet metal work or related trades.
  • 2+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation in a manufacturing setting.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and resolve fabrication challenges.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and metal finishing processes is a plus.
