Unit Research Administrator

Job Description

The mission of the Office of Clinical Research (OCR) is to provide faculty with resources, information and expertise in clinical research to advance the science of healthcare. The OCR facilitates the process of conducting clinical research, from inception through completion, with the ultimate goal of delivering state of the art healthcare services to the community in the Greater Tampa Bay area and beyond. We are committed to streamlining procedures and enhancing services for clinical investigators and research staff, affiliate partners, extramural sponsors and research volunteers. The strategic services, education and training, and comprehensive review processes provided by the OCR are designed to foster research teams who are benchmarking the next generation standard of care.

The Unit Research Administrator will work in a professional capacity to negotiate clinical research agreements and subsequent amendments with external sponsors and entities. The URA will be responsible for partnering with the University's Office of General Counsel, the Technology Transfer Office and Sponsored Research, to ensure clinical trial agreements are compliant with institutional policies and procedures, as well as federal, state and local laws. Additionally, this position will work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to, study teams, budget analysts, fiscal administrators, and affiliate institutions.Minimum Qualifications:
\n
• This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional administrative experience; or a Master's degree. Progressively responsible related experience may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
\n • Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
\n • SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
\n • A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
\n (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
\n (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
\n (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
\n (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
\n (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
\n • Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
\n • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
