Position Overview
Mission Valley Post Acute is looking for a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet residents' dietary needs while supporting their overall health and satisfaction. Your work will directly contribute to a positive dining experience and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and specific dietary guidelines
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
  • Adjust meals to meet special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times
  • Assist with monitoring inventory and notifying leadership of supply needs
  • Store and label food properly to ensure freshness and regulatory compliance
  • Work collaboratively with dietary staff and clinical team to meet residents' nutritional needs
  • Support meal service and ensure proper portion control

Qualifications
  • Prior cooking experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service preferred
  • Familiarity with therapeutic and modified diets is a plus
  • Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
  • Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Schedule
  • Full-time position
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
