Position OverviewMission Valley Post Acute is looking for a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet residents' dietary needs while supporting their overall health and satisfaction. Your work will directly contribute to a positive dining experience and quality of care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and specific dietary guidelines
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
- Adjust meals to meet special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times
- Assist with monitoring inventory and notifying leadership of supply needs
- Store and label food properly to ensure freshness and regulatory compliance
- Work collaboratively with dietary staff and clinical team to meet residents' nutritional needs
- Support meal service and ensure proper portion control
Qualifications- Prior cooking experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service preferred
- Familiarity with therapeutic and modified diets is a plus
- Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Schedule- Full-time position
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
