Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
The Research Technician will perform day-to-day laboratory activities in support of ongoing research projects in cancer nanomedicine and tumor immunology. The role is primarily hands-on and involves executing established experimental protocols.
Job Duties
• Perform a variety of laboratory experiments, including mammalian cell culture, nanoparticle treatment, and cell-based assays, as well as molecular and cellular biology techniques such as RT-qPCR, Western blotting, and flow cytometry for gene and protein analysis.
• Prepare and optimize nanoparticle formulations from pre-synthesized materials and evaluate their physicochemical properties using appropriate analytical techniques.
• Assist with in vivo mouse studies, including tumor model establishment, tail vein injections, and tissue collection, in compliance with approved animal protocols. Identify, collect, and prepare biological specimens for downstream applications.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microplate reader, DLS analyzer, and HPLC, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures and results, organize data, and assist with basic analysis and reporting.
• Support laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, inventory management, procurement, and general lab organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position and a Master's Degree is preferred. The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience working in a lab.
Moderate physical effort required. May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.
