Job Purpose/Scope:

Responsible for the continuous operation of the presses, and token Presses when appropriate.  I per Standard Operating Procedures.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Essential Functions

20%      Responsible for loading new coils.

20%      Frequently inspect blanked coins for visual and gauge - record as per SOP.

10%      Responsible for continuous inspection of incoming strip to ensure quality.

10%      Responsible for inputting data into EPICOR.

10%      Ensures Heads/Tails are removed.

10%      Makes up and verifies the proper operation of strip spray lubricant for press operation.

10%      Maintains a clean and safe work area.

10%      Provides support to maintenance when they are servicing a press and performs daily         PM’s.

 

Secondary Functions

Responsible for making up and filling the press lubrication.  Also, weekly changing of the cobb mill material in the dryer.

 

Knowledge/Experience/Skills

    • Knowledge

            High school diploma or equivalent and/or one year of industrial experience.

    • Experience

One-year industrial experience preferably in a heavy-manufacturing environment.

Machine operator experience a plus

    • Skills

Must be able, within the probationary period, to fulfill the responsibilities for the continuous operation of the presses, as per assigned Work Instructions.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs preferred.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to properly use a calibrated caliper and micrometer.

Specialized Working conditions and % Travel:  (i.e., hearing, vision, extreme temperatures)

Must be able to see small marks, scratches, and changes in blank shapes to determine good and bad blanks.
