Toxaway Member Services Representative I

Position Description:

Objectives of the position include:

- To provide courteous, professional, and prompt assistance to the general public and member-owners desiring electric service connections and disconnections, information, explanations, or assistance in a manner that demonstrates a desire and willingness to consistently provide high-quality member experience.

- To promote the services of the Cooperative and their use by the membership.

Education & Experience Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent required. Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Two years of experience in a customer service and/or public relations function, is preferred.

Candidate must be able to:

- Read, write, speak and understand spoken English. With particularly good skills in listening, negotiating, and conflict resolution.

- Multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

- Perform very detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.

- Use computer hardware and software (Windows OS) to the degree necessary to perform the requirements of the position.

- Obtain and retain a N.C. Notary Public license.

- Effectively utilize the two‑way radio.

- Apply general math and cash handling skills.

- Maintain a valid NC Driver's License, be insurable, and be able to operate a motorized vehicle without assistance. Regular schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; subject to change as business needs require. Candidate must live within 30 miles of the Cooperative's Lake Toxaway Office (298 Blue Ridge Rd. Lake Toxaway, NC).
