Advanced Product Regulatory Compliance Engineer

Job Description

As a Product Regulatory Compliance Engineer at Honeywell, you will be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to established set of tools aimed at evaluating materials to identify the presence and extent of prohibited or hazardous substances used in hardware manufactured by Honeywell.

You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, and work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin with 90 days onsite before transitioning to a 3/2 hybrid work schedule.

You will review new designs to ensure material and processes meet customers’ needs. You will perform standard work to support new products such as (but not limited to) Hazardous Material Analysis, Flammability Test Reports and Fungus Analysis. In addition, you will apply expertise to support materials and processes issues and potential failure analyses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Understand and interpret PFAS chemical definitions and scope differences across regional, national, and state regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and implement a time-based regulatory compliance strategy to address PFAS-related regulations.
  • Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) industry efforts to leverage industry-developed PFAS replacements.
  • Oversee the execution of cross-site design changes to ensure alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
  • BOM analysis to identify hazardous or conflicting materials

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 5 plus years of Chemical, Material, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry experience
  • Experience reviewing drawings and in materials analysis
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
