Job Description

As a Semiconductor I Engineer here at Honeywell, you will contribute to the design and development of ASICs and FPGAs that support our aerospace technology initiatives. You will be involved in the architecture, design, implementation, verification, and integration of a wide variety of ASICs and FPGAs used in many products, including Flight Controls Systems, Weather Radars, Displays, and many more.

You will report directly to our engineering manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on an on-site work schedule.


Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Requirements capture, architecture, design, implementation, verification, and system integration
• Working with a team of engineers through the development of an ASIC/FPGA
• Designing for compliance with DO-254
• Preparing lifecycle documentation, including: planning documents, requirements documents, design documents, traceability data, and verification procedures
• Supporting the execution of on-target testing and lab integration

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Must have graduated or graduating from an accredited college or university between August 2025 and May 2026 and be available to begin full-time work between September 2025- July 2026
• Must have obtained degree within 12 months of the start date
• Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

WE VALUE
• Basic Electrical Engineering troubleshooting capability
• Experience in the use of HDL (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog)
• Experience in the use of ASIC/FPGA simulation tools, synthesis tools, and build tools
• Scripting language skills – e.g., Perl, Shell, TCL
• Effective and clear communication skills and good ability to work with others
• Work accurately with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and follow up on responsibilities
• Experience with Microsoft Office tool suite
• Experience with UNIX or Linux Operating Systems is preferred
• Ability to work with teams of engineers
• Internship experience in a past ASIC/FPGA role is preferred, or previous work or school experience on an ASIC/FPGA project
• Self-motivated individuals are preferred
• Familiarity with ASIC/FPGA design languages, such as VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
