The Manager of Design and Drafting will lead a diverse team of professionals with expertise to support innovation and new technology development, digital transformation, project execution, sales support, detail engineering, and equipment design/supply. The team's focus is the development of P&ID/MFD, plot plans, mechanical drawings, and automated drawing solutions across multiple Honeywell UOP product line offerings within UOP Process Technologies (UPT) and Low Carbon Energy (LCE).

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical leadership and promote a continuous improvement mindset to innovate both technology and work process.
  • Manage internal and contract resource staffing/scheduling, assess priorities, and collaborate across internal customers to balance business needs, customer commitments, and functional goals to provide design and drafting support to Engineering, Equipment, Services, and R&D.
  • Coordinate performance management, career development, and salary administration of staff.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to establish and communicate business and departmental objectives, strategies, and priorities to employees.
  • Identify and develop people and systems to maintain and advance UOP's technical capabilities to meet current and projected business needs.
  • Build a sustainable diverse and inclusive team.
  • Lead business initiatives and cross-functional improvement teams and drive complex problem resolution efforts.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 10 or more years of experience in process or mechanical engineering or drafting/designer technical or leadership roles.


WE VALUE
  • People management, team lead, or project management experience.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Understanding of plant layout/design, P&ID/MFD development, mechanical drawing development, and corresponding CAD software.
  • Prior experience across a broad range of UOP process technologies within Schedule A and Equipment product lines.
  • Strong leadership skills including mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications ability.
  • Experience applying HUE, Agile, or Six Sigma methodologies and tools in product development, operational improvements, and/or problem resolution efforts.
