The Taneja College of Pharmacy is managed by the Dean and an actively engaged administrative leadership team. The Taneja College of Pharmacy has developed a Doctor of Pharmacy program at USF Health that will create an academic and clinical learning environment known for producing outstanding pharmacist clinicians trained in advanced principles to provide exceptional patient-centered care.

Position Summary:
\n
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Compounding Pharmacist prepares individualized medication formulations in accordance with patient-specific needs, prescriptions, and regulatory guidelines. Employee will work in the Morsani clinic on North campus Minimum:

Licensure as a pharmacist in accordance with Chapter 465, Florida Statues and one year of pharmacy experience.

Preferred:
  • Pharm. D. degree
  • Active Florida Pharmacy License
  • Experience with compounding, especially in sterile environments
  • Knowledge of compounding standards and regulations, including USP , , and

Other:
  • No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances
  • This appointment requires pre-employment drug testing.

  • Specialty Services: Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications (including sterile and hazardous substances), drugs and other pharmaceuticals for patient care.
  • Compounding: Evaluate prescriptions for clinical accuracy, stability, compatibility, and dosing appropriateness. Precisely mix and prepare medications according to prescribed formulations, adhering to proper techniques and regulations. May also be involved in research and development of new formulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures throughout the compounding process to ensure medication accuracy, stability, and safety.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all compounding procedures, ingredients used, and relevant patient information.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain a current inventory of compounding ingredients, equipment, and supplies.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards, including USP , , and , as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Training: Train and supervise pharmacy technicians (if applicable) in compounding procedures and safety protocols.
  • Safety: Ensure a safe and clean compounding environment, utilizing proper safety precautions and personal protective equipment as required by USP standards.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to compounding, such as drug interactions or material shortages.
