Senior M&A Manager, Corporate Development

Job Description

Corporate Development Leader - M&A, Partnerships, Business Development, Venture Capital

Working under the purview of the VP of M&A, the Senior M&A Manager will work closely with the broader Honeywell Aerospace M&A team and be responsible for leading/supporting all aspects of acquisition sourcing, partnerships and Ventures transactions for the promotion of Honeywell’s growth objectives.

They will be required to work extensively with cross-functional teams in the execution of their duties. They will provide transaction guidance and process leadership to business segment teams and have relevant contact with SBG leadership. Specific responsibilities include:


Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support development of robust transaction (acquisition, partnerships, ventures) pipeline.
  • Team with Business Unit Leadership teams to understand and develop strategic direction and acquisition/alliance priorities.
  • Develop and deploy robust pipeline process, leveraging strategic business unit priorities.
  • Work with SBU teams to plan ongoing outreach program to develop relationships with targets.
  • Working cross functionally, drive further definition of strategic direction and ownership/sponsorship.
  • Proactively team with SBG BD teams to define M&A, Ventures and partnership strategy.
  • Identify and screen potential acquisition/partnering/ventures targets.
  • Work with SBG/SBU deal sponsors to evaluate opportunities.

Design and Conduct Thorough and Effective Transaction Due Diligence:
- Support development of strong business case for each transaction, including quantitative support for annual operating plan and investment activities.
- Lead/support financial due diligence, including current and projected performance expectations.
- Develop and present complex business plans in effective and accessible fashion to SBG leaders and senior Corporate leadership

Financial and analytical skills, including valuation methodologies; accounting background a plus.
- Strong skills in screening and analyzing potential opportunities, cultivation and conducting due diligence.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), negotiation skills and a collaborative/team approach to execution.
- Strategic insight into “corporate fit” of proposed transactions – ability to see the bigger picture in order to gauge future acquisition runway and expansion paths.

Ability to deal with ambiguity, work within a cross functional team environment and communicate effectively with multiple constituents.

- Strong independent work ethic and self-starter
- Add value to high-level management interactions, with a proven ability to develop, communicate and create buy-in around business strategies.

Network within the industry / bankers and be aware of major Aero trends to inform strategic discussions / directions

Ability to travel 30-40%

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • At least 6 years in corporate development and transaction execution experience or financial management. Aerospace experience is a plus.
