AAC Carpenter Assistant

Job Description

Scott System, a product line of Access Anvil Corp. (AAC), is seeking a Carpenter Assistant to assist in the fabrication of formliner molds and custom foam, wood, composite and aluminum projects. The products offered serve the cast-in place and precast concrete industries with a focus on architectural finishes.  We are looking for someone who is energetic, highly detail oriented, safety conscious, reliable and self-motivated and who takes pride int he quality of their work.

Your role as a Carpenter Assistant: 

•    Safely unload and store incoming raw materials.
•    Assist in the fabrication of formliner molds and custom foam, wood, composite and aluminum projects.
•    Perform basic to moderately complex carpentry.
•    Develop an understanding of QA processes and perform simple quality inspections with supervision.
•    Assist in cycle counts as needed.
•   Ensure the cleanliness of the shop, performing routine housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, etc.  Remove clutter from the floor and properly store or dispose of such clutter.

What we're looking for:

•  Ability to read a tape measure and understand common measurements of length.
•  Ability to read basic to moderately complex shop drawings.
•  Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machines.
•  Ability to hear with a high level of background noise (milling machines).
•  Ability to lift and carry as well as push and pull weights of up to 50 lbs.
•  Ability to access equipment at various levels by reaching or climbing a ladder, bend over, walk, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
•  Ability to withstand exposure to dust, fumes and chemicals produced during cutting, milling, and spraying processes.
•  Ability to withstand exposure to extreme temperatures.
