Machinist - Level 3

Job Description

As a Machinist Level 3 here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in operating and maintaining machining equipment to produce high-quality parts and components that meet precise specifications. You will apply your advanced machining skills to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety in the manufacturing process.

You will report directly to our Machine Shop Manager and you’ll work out of our Greer, SC location on an On-site work schedule. (2nd Shift M - Thu)

In this role, you will impact the overall productivity and quality of our machining operations, contributing to the success of our manufacturing goals and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate and set up complex machining equipment including CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to meet strict quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Proven experience as a skilled machinist with advanced knowledge of machining processes and equipment operation.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to produce precision parts.
  • Proficiency in operating CNC machines, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting to ensure product quality.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify part dimensions.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in a machine shop environment to maintain a safe workplace.


WE VALUE
  • Associate degree or technical certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in machining roles, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
