| Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept | The PSU Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) is a nationally accredited healthcare facility that offers medical, counseling, dental, health promotion/education, and confidential advocacy services to students of Portland State University. The center consists of over 100 clinical and administrative staff, and there are currently 16,800 students eligible to use SHAC services. SHAC strives for inclusive and equitable hiring practices. We are committed to increasing the diversity of our healthcare team. All SHAC staff participating on search committees have completed PSU’s Inclusive Hiring Workshop. Counseling Services is committed to helping students flourish in the classroom and beyond. We know that stress and other life circumstances impact students’ abilities to function at their best in the classroom and in their communities. Counseling Services offers a variety of mental health services that help students effectively cope with stressors, grow from experiences, find ways to restore balance, build strength, and ultimately increase personal well-being. |

| Position Summary | This is a 12-month position to begin September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027. The Social Work Resident, under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker, provides culturally-responsive mental health services to PSU students including: brief individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, brief consultation/triage, case management, and emergency/crisis services. They also participate in psychoeducational outreach and consultation with students, faculty and staff. The Social Work Resident works collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team of professionals committed to meeting the diverse mental health needs of a global student community. They are an active participant in staff and clinical team meetings, professional development and clinical in-service activities. |

| Work Days/Hours | M-F, 40 hours/week to be scheduled between 8am and 6pm. A remote day may be available, however this is subject to change based on operational needs of the clinic and university guidelines. |
| Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement | The salary range available for this position is $49,140-$53,048.
