Required License/Registration/Certification
Have one or more of the following: 1. Graduated from a medical assistant program and eligible to sit for certification or registration exam (Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), etc.) plus Basic Life Support (BLS) at time of hire through American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider. Must sit for and successfully pass medical assistant (MA) certification or registration within 1 year of hire. Must advance on TAP ladder within 1 year of hire.


Physical Requirements
The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
Shift
Monday – Friday, Day Shift; primarily 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (40 hrs/wk); other hours/schedule as needed.
Job Summary
This position is located off-campus in Georgetown, KY at UKHC Family & Community Medicine – Georgetown.

The Medical Assistant Adv is responsible for the daily care of patients and supports clinic operations by serving in a lead role for other Medical Assistant staff members in their clinic.

This mainly involves working with the clinic supervisor to help train and orient new MA staff. In addition to daily operations, the Medical Assistant Adv also supports process improvements for programs and workflows to enhance the role of the MA/Tech staff to improve clinical outcomes reliant on unlicensed assistive personnel role.

The Medical Assistant Advanced will collaborate with all healthcare team members to ensure high-quality service and excellent outcomes. The MA Advanced will communicate with many healthcare team members and beyond, positively representing UKHC and their specific clinic, following UK HealthCare behavioral expectations for service excellence.
