The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, the hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments. Shift May include day, evenings, night, and/or swing; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays. Job Summary The Service Line Lead Surgical Tech provides technical support for the assigned service lines by ensuring all equipment, materials and instruments are operable and available the day of surgery; prepares the room for the case; trains providers in the proper setup and use of the equipment, materials and instrumentation; works collaboratively with the Central Sterile Processing Department and communicates with all outside vendors for the assigned specialty area; and maintains active communication among interdepartmental staff, Physicians and service line team members. The Service Line Lead Surgical Tech shall be a proficient Surgical Technologist in their specialty area and shall function in the scrub role to facilitate flow of surgical cases when needed. The role will report directly to their service-area aligned Service Line Manager/UKHC. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities none Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
