Key Responsibilities:
Actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing, support, and implementation of application functionality under the direction of an application manager or software engineer lead
Work with software engineer lead to test and troubleshoot algorithms on both web-based and physical based platforms (sensor packs, autonomous robotics systems)
Design and 3-D print items for robotic and sensor systems
Supports systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) with guidance from senior colleagues by providing insight to testing teams to define test plans
Research Industrial Electrical Machines/Systems and write summary information to be included in an expert system tool
Drawing of 3D representations of industrial equipment and machinery
Review of electrical power quality reports and data to facilitate transfer into separate customer data sets
Work with direction from both local and off-site managers
Education and Experience:
Computer Engineering or related discipline preferred
Willingness to learn physical computing
Experience in any of the following is a plus: C#/C++, JavaScript, HTML, Fusion 360/Autodesk Inventor
Core Skills and Attributes:
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Intermediate programming skills
Good teamwork skills and ability to learn from others
Strong time management skills and dedication to quality.
Familiarity with the following Language and Frameworks is a plus:
Vue Framework, Vite, C/C++, C#, Python & Libraries, Typescript/Javascript, HTML/CSS, SQL Tools and Platform: GIT, Linux, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studios/Visual Code.
The hourly rate range for Student positions are:
Undergraduate: $16-29 per hour
Masters: $27-33 per hour
Ph.D: $31-36 per hour
These ranges are an estimate, and the actual hourly rate may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The hourly rate may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
As an EPRI Student, you will not participate in EPRI’s Benefit Programs which includes health insurance, retirement benefits, vacation, sick leave (except as set required by law) and holiday pay. However, as a Student employee you are eligible for the benefits of Social Security, State Disability Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
For Student positions which require one to relocate to an EPRI office. Relocation assistance is not provided and the student will be responsible for covering all relocation costs/expenses.
EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA). EPRI uses the system to check the work status of new hires by comparing information from the employee's I-9 form against SSA and Department of Homeland Security databases.
