Job Description:Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an innovative and experienced Manager of Threat Intelligence and Travel Security to lead these critical programs. In an era defined by a "VUCA" (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) global landscape, this mid-level leadership role designed for a professional who has moved beyond the "individual contributor" stage and is ready to modernize a world-class intelligence program.
As we navigate the risks unfolding in 2026-including geopolitical fragmentation, supply chain shocks, and regional regulatory shifts-you will be the primary architect of HPE's physical security and strategic intelligence program. You will lead a small, dedicated team of junior Intelligence Analysts to provide actionable, narrative-driven insights that protect our most valuable assets: our people and our global operations. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, business unit executives, and regional security teams while modernizing our intelligence capabilities through cutting-edge technology solutions.
Note: This role is focused strictly on physical, geopolitical, and travel-related threats. While a high-level awareness of the "digital domino effect" is necessary, this position
does not encompass cybersecurity, cyber intelligence, or IT-related threat monitoring as a primary function.
Key Responsibilities:Threat Intelligence Operations- Risk Monitoring
- Lead comprehensive all-source intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination on physical security threats affecting HPE personnel, facilities, operations, and business interests worldwide
- Actively monitor and analyze emerging global threats, including geopolitical instability in key manufacturing hubs, trade-related volatility (tariffs/export controls), and civil unrest.
- Monitor and assess geopolitical developments, civil unrest, terrorism, adverse technology, kidnapping risks, natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other threats to business continuity
- Risk Reporting
- Produce high-quality written reports and deliver verbal briefings to Senior Leadership and Business Unit heads regarding "Over-the-Horizon" risks that could impact HPE's revenue streams or site operations
- Produce timely written intelligence products including daily situational awareness reports, threat assessments, country and regional briefings, trip-specific intelligence, and crisis situation reports
- Deliver verbal briefings to executive leadership, Board members, Business Unit and Function leaders, and traveling employees on emerging threats and security conditions
- Programmatic
- Develop and maintain threat assessment methodologies and risk rating systems aligned to HPE's global operating environment
- Act as the primary security intelligence liaison for HPE Business Units, ensuring security insights are integrated into broader business continuity and supply chain resilience plans
- Partner closely with the Executive Protection (EP) team to identify and assess persons of interest (POIs) or groups of interest (GOIs) that may pose a physical risk to HPE leadership
- Establish and maintain relationships with government intelligence agencies, law enforcement, private sector intelligence networks, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) communities
Travel Security Program Management- Programmatic
- Design, implement, and manage HPE's comprehensive global travel security program supporting employee safety in high-risk and permissive environments
- Establish travel security policies, procedures, and guidelines in coordination with HR, Legal, and business stakeholders
- Duty of Care
- Oversee the end-to-end Global Travel Security program, ensuring the safety of HPE employees traveling to high-risk and emerging market destinations
- Monitor traveling employees in real-time during crisis situations and coordinate duty-of-care responses
- Conduct pre-travel risk assessments and provide security briefings for employees traveling to higher-risk locations
- Develop and maintain country and city security profiles covering all HPE operating locations and frequent travel destinations
- Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary administrator for travel security and mass notification platforms (e.g., AlertMedia, Anvil, etc.)
- Travel Advisory
- Collaborate with Regional Security Managers to provide real-time travel risk assessments and "Go/No-Go" recommendations for employee travel based on current local intelligence
- Collaborate on travel security support including in-country security arrangements, secure transportation, emergency response protocols, evacuation processes, etc
Team Leadership and Development- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Intelligence Analysts, fostering professional growth and analytical excellence
- Establish intelligence collection priorities and analytical focus areas based on enterprise risk assessment
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of intelligence products to ensure accuracy, relevance, and actionable insights
- Build team capabilities in all-source analysis, geospatial intelligence, social media intelligence, and structured analytical techniques
- Create training programs to enhance team proficiency in intelligence tradecraft, threat assessment, and communication
Technology and Innovation- Drive the "digitalization" of the intelligence program by identifying and implementing new OSINT/SOCMINT tools and AI-driven analytics to increase the speed and accuracy of threat detection
- Champion the adoption of modern intelligence technologies to enhance collection, analysis, and dissemination capabilities
- Manage and optimize existing platforms (AlertMedia, Anvil, etc.) while identifying and implementing next-generation solutions
- Leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation to improve threat detection and alerting
- Develop digital intelligence products including interactive dashboards, geospatial mapping, and mobile-accessible content
- Integrate intelligence feeds and data sources into centralized platforms for enhanced situational awareness
- Ensure technology solutions support both corporate security operations and business unit requirements
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration- Serve as primary intelligence liaison to Regional Security Managers supporting operations globally
- Partner with Business Unit and Function leaders to understand operational requirements and provide tailored threat intelligence support
- Coordinate with Executive Protection team on protective intelligence and advance security planning
- Collaborate with Crisis Management team to provide intelligence support during business disruptions and emergencies
- Interface with HPE's global facilities, operations, supply chain, and HR teams on location-specific security concerns that can be supported through intelligence
- Build relationships with external security partners, consultants, and vendors supporting HPE's global security posture
Required Qualifications:Education- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, Intelligence Studies, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or related field required
Experience- 5-7 years of progressive experience in threat intelligence, security analysis, or related intelligence discipline
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing intelligence analysts or security professionals in a corporate, government, or military environment
- Demonstrated experience producing written and verbal intelligence products for executive and operational audiences
- Proven track record managing travel security programs or international security operations in a corporate environment
- Experience working in fast-paced, global organizations with geographically dispersed operations
Skills and Competencies- Expert knowledge of global threat landscape including terrorism, organized crime, civil unrest, geopolitical risks, and natural hazards
- Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources into clear, actionable intelligence
- Exceptional written communication skills producing concise, accurate, and professional intelligence reports and assessments
- Outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills for delivering briefings to senior executives and diverse audiences
- Proven leadership ability to motivate, develop, and manage high-performing intelligence teams
- Technical proficiency with intelligence platforms, threat monitoring systems, and security technology solutions
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity working across diverse international environments
- Sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive information and confidential intelligence
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in relevant field
- Experience in private sector corporate intelligence or security consulting
- Background in government intelligence, military intelligence, law enforcement intelligence, or diplomatic security
- Familiarity with intelligence community analytical standards and structured analytical techniques
- Experience with crisis management, business continuity, or emergency response operations
- Knowledge of AlertMedia, Anvil, OnSolve, Everbridge, or similar mass notification and travel security platforms
- Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Threat Manager (CTM), or related credentials
- Foreign language proficiency (particularly Spanish, Mandarin, French, or Arabic)
- Experience supporting operations in technology, manufacturing, or complex global enterprises
- Understanding of supply chain security, logistics security, or facility security operations
Working Conditions and Special Requirements- Position preferably based at HPE headquarters (Spring, Texas), but hybrid and remote is possible
- Ability to work non-standard hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to monitor global operations and emerging threats
- On-call availability to support crisis response and provide real-time intelligence during emergencies
- Domestic and international travel up to 10% to deliver training and engage with regional teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances if required for government contract support
- Must maintain high level of confidentiality and discretion with sensitive intelligence and business information
