Magnetic Resonance Engineer



The Department of Neurological Surgery and Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh is at the forefront of imaging-based research. We are building a Multi-nuclear Neuroimaging/Spectroscopy facility and are in search of an MR Engineer.

This position will assist upcoming Multinuclear Magnetic Resonance facility at the magnetic resonance research Centre (M-MRRC), department of Radiology which houses three operational 3T Siemens scanners for clinical research. This multi nuclear (1H; 19F; 31P; 7Li; 13C and 23Na) facility will eventually facilitate high quality clinical data, update/develop sequence and data analytic pipelines).

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist research teams with developing, installing, documenting, porting, debugging, and optimizing application-level research methodology within multinuclear MR domain.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues based on your expertise.

Interested candidate (minimum master’s degree in Bioengineering; Electronics; Electrical engineering or Ph.D in Physics/physical Chemistry with training in Neuroimaging) to assist data generation and quality control of data. Person of interest would be well versed in Matlab and Python.
