We are looking for a Pattern Maker to join our team in Decatur, Illinois.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Pattern Maker is responsible for planning, laying out, and constructing wooden unit or sectional patterns used to form sand molds for castings, following blueprint specifications. This role requires the use of various hand and power tools. Responsibilities include laying out patterns on wood stock and dividing the pattern into sections based on casting design to ensure proper mold release. This requires strong knowledge of casting techniques and proficiency with marking and measuring tools such as scribers, shrink rules, and squares. The Pattern Maker must also demonstrate an understanding of both Ductile and Manganese operations, perform routine practice tasks, and possess knowledge of repairing and assembling plastic injection molds. Additionally, the role requires introductory experience with CNC routers, including setup and tooling, in accordance with the training matrix.
