Department Overview This position is focused on research-based data analysis, including but not limited to conducting processing and analysis of clinical record or omics data collected from public domain; performing and downloading and processing of public omics data; data analysis and visualization; and dealing with IRB-paper works.
Function/Duties of Position - Processing clinical record or omics data, including data curation and cleaning using algorithms in Python and R and other relevant software.
- Maintain rigorous quality control standards- keeping careful records and working closely with other scientists to coordinate complex experiments and troubleshooting.
- Producing analytics and data visualizations of clinical record and omics-derived analysis results, which may include simple statistical tests, various types of summary plots, and data aggregation.
- Assisting in developing and implementing robust analysis pipelines, algorithms, and protocols for reproducible omics-based assays of metabolic flux, variations, dynamics, and function.
- Generate reports; Discuss and communicate results.
- Work independently within established guidelines, use good judgment in making decisions, communicate and work effectively as part of a team. Work and interact with a variety of scientists and staff.
- Dealing with IRB related paperwork.
Required Qualifications - Master's Degree in relevant field; OR
- Bachelor's in relevant field and 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience or interest in data processing, text, numerical or imaging data analysis.
Experience with data analysis, high dimensional clinical or omics analysis, data visualization, and report generation.
Organizational skills, MS Office competency.
Python, R, MATLAB, and C++ programming.
Webserver and database development.
Ability to communicate effectively, relay issues and troubleshoot, problem solving abilities, and high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications Additional Details Work is generally 21 hours (52.5% FTE) per week during normal working hours, however, some evening and weekend work will be required.
