The Regional Medical Director will work closely with the leadership team to open new offices; recruit, hire, train, and supervise clinical providers; provide administrative leadership, and deliver direct patient care in outpatient settings.
This role includes direct patient care, administrative duties, staff management, and compliance oversight, as well as serving as a liaison between clinical and administrative teams. This role requires a strong commitment to interprofessional collaboration, demonstrated leadership and operational excellence, and a deep enthusiasm for high-quality, patient-centered care grounded in kindness and respect.
We are seeking a candidate with comfort and skill leading within a multidisciplinary clinical environment, partnering closely with midwives, ARNPs, ultrasound technologists, medical assistants, and staff in a model that values shared expertise, mutual respect, and coordinated care.
Preference given to physicians with existing WA State based practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Clinical Leadership & Oversight
* Provide clinical direction and leadership to physicians and medical staff.
* Oversee patient care processes and procedures to ensure best practices are followed.
* Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care across all practice areas.
* Set and maintain clinical protocols and guidelines in alignment with evidence-based practices.
* Supervise and mentor physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers in the practice.
* Review complex cases and provide clinical decision-making support when needed.
* Stay current with developments in medical technology, treatments, and best practices.
* Patient Care & Satisfaction:
* Provide direct patient care, including diagnosing and treating patients within your area of specialty.
* Ensure that the practice delivers excellent patient-centered care, aiming for high patient satisfaction.
* Address patient complaints and resolve issues to maintain the practice’s reputation and patient retention.
* Medical Policy & Compliance
* Develop, implement, and enforce clinical protocols, guidelines, and policies.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and ethical practices.
* Ensure that the practice complies with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
* Oversee quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies to minimize clinical and operational risk.
* Maintain and update the practice’s policies and procedures as per regulatory and industry standards.
* Staff Management & Development (Leadership)
* Provide strategic direction and guidance for the growth and development of the practice.
* Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
* Act as the liaison between clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure seamless operations.
* Lead staff meetings and ensure open communication throughout the practice.
* Supervise and evaluate the performance of physicians and other medical staff.
* Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for medical teams.
* Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of clinical staff.
* Practice Management / Strategic Planning & Program Development
* Oversee the operational and financial aspects of the practice, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
* Collaborate with the practice’s administrative team on budgeting, resource allocation, and financial planning.
* Work closely with billing and coding departments to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
* Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors, laboratories, and other service providers.
* Participate in the development of short- and long-term clinical strategies to support organizational goals.
* Lead and support the development of new medical programs or services.
* Collaborate with leadership on budget planning, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
* Quality Improvement & Risk Management
* Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes.
* Collaborate with risk management and legal departments to address clinical concerns and reduce liability.
* Analyze performance metrics, patient satisfaction surveys, and outcomes data to identify areas for improvement.
* Interdisciplinary Collaboration
* Work with internal nursing, administrative, and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
* Liase with local midwifery practices to promote referral system.
* Participate in interdisciplinary committees, such as infection control or ethics committees, to support practice policies.
* Represent the medical department in board meetings or leadership discussions.
Required Qualifications:
* Education & Certification
* MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
* Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (BC OB/GYN)
* Active, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state(s) of practice
* Experience
* Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in women’s health, with experience in outpatient or ambulatory settings
* Demonstrated experience leading or working within interprofessional clinical teams, including collaboration with midwives, advanced practice providers, and clinical support staff
* Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and supervise clinical providers in a growth-oriented practice environment
* Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care

Working Conditions
The Medical Director role may require working outside regular office hours, attending emergency meetings, or responding to critical patient care needs.
Pay: $250,000.00 - $600,000.00 per year
