NMH Summer Faculty Position: Inspire, Educate, and Belong

Join a passionate community of educators and students at NMH Summer, a dynamic, inclusive living and learning summer program located in the beautiful hills of western Massachusetts. For more than a century, we have welcomed motivated students from around the globe to engage in meaningful learning, growth, and discovery. At the heart of our program is a commitment to fostering educational excellence, curiosity, personal development, and an authentic sense of belonging.

Who We Are:

At NMH Summer, students in grades 7–12 explore academics, athletics, arts, and cultural and enrichment activities with the guidance of dedicated faculty and staff. Our 4-week and 2-week long programs thrive on the energy, creativity, and expertise of experienced lead teachers and teaching fellows who are committed to shaping the next generation of learners. Together, we create a vibrant summer community that encourages curiosity, builds confidence, and sparks joy.

What You’ll Do:

As an NMH Summer Faculty member, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead and Inspire: Teach your subject/s with passion and innovation, guiding students through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

• Create Connections: Serve as a mentor to teaching fellows, collaborating and supporting them navigate as effective teachers and community members.

• Build Community: Participate in the full range of NMH Summer activities, from academic enrichment to social events, ensuring students and colleagues feel supported and included.

We are seeking experienced, student-centered educators who pitch in, and are creative, collaborative, and committed to student growth as well as to principles of equity and inclusivity. If you are enthusiastic about engaging young minds and shaping a transformative summer experience, we would love to hear from you. Key Dates For NMH Summer 2026

Saturday, June 27 Dorm heads and teaching fellows arrive on campus by 5pm in preparation for orientation week

 Thursday, July 2 Opening faculty meetings

 Friday, July 3 NMH Summer registration day: 4-week and Session 1 students arrive!

 Monday, July 6 Classes begin

 Saturday, July 18 Session 1 students depart/Dorm preparations for Session 2 arrivals

 Sunday, July 19  Session 2 students arrive

 Saturday, Aug. 1 All students depart; final faculty/staff gathering

 Sunday, Aug. 2 Faculty and fellows depart

Pay Information

The base range for a full-time summer teacher (without co-curricular or leadership duties) is $4,950-$6,100 for the summer session. Pay is prorated up for teachers with additional co-curricular assignments, or leadership roles, and prorated down for those with a reduced work load.
