Job Summary: The Monitor Technician performs under the direct supervision of the RN and is delegated assignments by the RN to achieve quality patient care. He/she is involved in the implementation phase of the nursing process and is directly accountable to the Patient Care Coordinator of the unit. The tech performs tasks assigned by the RN in an assistant role to the RN on the unit. These tasks require special training and competency validation through the education department. In addition the tech must be able to perform nurse aide duties as the RN needs dictates.
