Welder I The Welder I is an entry level welding position working under the daily direction of other senior welders. A position responsible for setting up and operating welding equipment/jigs/tools to join metal components and/or fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products which sometimes may include assembly of final product and ancillary support functions. Duties and Responsibilities Analyze drawings, specifications, or work orders to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Cut, contour, and bevel metal plates and structural shapes to dimensions as specified by blueprints. Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
