The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a licensed professional who is responsible and accountable for the planning, implementation and delivery of speech pathology services to ensure positive patient outcomes. The SLP is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of disorders affecting speech, language, voice, swallow and cognitive-communicative function for pediatric populations. The SLP assess and documents the pediatric patient’s communication status using clinical observations, caregiver reports, and standardized testing. The SLP develops a plan for treatment that integrates family values child’s deficits and the clinical guidelines/recommendations.
