*Duties*: The function of an RCP-2 is to perform various diagnostic and therapeutic modalities to patients with acute and chronic respiratory disease and/or illness. Under the direction of the patient's physician, the RCP-2 is responsible for setting up and operating various types of Respiratory Care Equipment. This can vary from routine prescribed treatment modalities to life support systems such as a mechanical ventilator. This position is also required to perform various tests to assess the patient's cardiopulmonary function status. This position may receive, secure and transport medications as necessary. In addition, The practitioner must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the following: 1. Airway care. 2. Ventilator mechanics and theory. 3.
