Department PPPL Theory Category Research and Laboratory Job Type Full-Time Overview The Principal Research Scientist (Managing) will build and lead a team that develops computational tools and workflows for engineering design and optimization of fusion reactors and facilities needed on the path to a Fusion Pilot Plant (FPP). The Principal Research Scientist (Managing) will also deploy and use those tools in collaboration with fusion industry partners. The Principal Research Scientist (Managing) is expected to exploit the expertise and state-of-the-art models developed by the PPPL Theory Department, and to use of the most recent computational advances, such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML).
