The Load Planner determines the best matches of loads with drivers based on customer requirements and driver qualifications. Plans should maximize utilization of drivers and company assets while being mindful of cost, driver needs and service expectations. Load Planners will also effectively communicate freight needs and create capacity when freight imbalances occur. Responsibilities Collaborate with customer service and fleet management to determine market needs and maximize available freight and capacity. Management of assigned fleet and/or market, including but not limited to: Cost controls, keeping deadhead and out of route miles at a minimum. Routing drivers’ home for time off. Trailer management. Analyzing overbooked/underbooked markets and create capacity based on market needs. Managing local drivers if applicable. Monitoring preplans for confirmations and execution.
