Job purpose To setup and run the Sodick Wire EDMs all the while maintaining part quality and production efficiencies. Duties and responsibilities Setup, operate and debug Sodick Wire EDMs. Make machine tool offsets as needed to maintain part quality. Make minor program changes to M & G code as needed. Identifies signs of tool wear and then makes the appropriate process or tool change(s). Reads process sheets and mechanical drawings with the understanding of GD&T. Works on multiple machines and performs multiple tasks throughout the day. Uses general measuring instruments such as; indicators, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gage blocks, rules, protractor and height gages. Enters inspection data into a computer software program. Performs basic machine maintenance such as changing fluids and filters. Maintains a clean work environment and machine work area.
