Overview:
Full-time. Four 10-hour days The Interventional Radiology (IVR) Technologist operates advanced radiological imaging equipment in support of the interventional cardiologist/radiologist while performing diagnostic and complex interventional procedures on a routine and emergent basis. Assists in preparing the patient and procedure room in order to preserve a sterile environment. Ensures the radiation dose is documented in the patient chart and following as low as reasonable achievable (ALARA) principles.
Responsibilities:
Accurately performs interventional radiology exams that adheres to department standards including technique, positioning, and the safe administration of contrast material. Records, stores, retrieves, analyzes imaging data obtained during interventional radiology procedures. Assures quality images are presented to the physician for interpretation.
