School Bus drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related events. School bus drivers pick up students at a designated location, such as street corners or private homes and drop them off at school. Duties and Responsibilities Transport students in a timely manner to and from school and/or school activities while following district safety procedures and applicable State Board of Education rules and regulations. 1. Operate and safely drive a school bus in either good or adverse weather, road and traffic conditions while transporting passengers to school or special events. Comply with traffic regulations while operating vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. 2. Communicate bus rules, safety and behavior requirements to passengers; and address improper behavior immediately while using appropriate interpersonal communication skills. 3.
