Job Summary The Sr. Fiber Technician position is accountable for maintaining and expanding Shentel's fiber optic network. The senior technician is a lead field position, working in various weather conditions, and is responsible for complex fiber preparation, splicing, installation and the repair of fiber optic cable from the POP to the customer premise using tools and fusion splicing equipment. Under minimal supervision, leads other fiber technicians and contractors, performing testing and certification of fiber. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, contractors, and company personnel. Education: High School Diploma is required for the role.
