The Laboratory Scientist is a Bachelor degreed, non-credentialed individual who supports preanalytical, analytic and post analytic laboratory workflows. Responsibilities may include the following: sample processing/aliquoting/prepping for transport/testing and performing CLIA waived and moderate-complexity testing; supporting clinical laboratory areas such as microbiology, molecular, urinalysis, and chemistry.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates technical skills in the pre-analytical phase of the testing process. Determines acceptability of specimens within guidelines. Follows protocol in labeling pour-offs. Stores specimens under appropriate conditions as quickly as possible. Prepares reagents / standards / calibrators correctly and ensures they are dated & in sufficient quantity.
