POSITION DETAILS:
Weekender with benefits; Works 2-12 hour shifts 6a-6p per the weekender guidelines; will work 48 actual hours in the two-week pay period but is paid 72 as part of the weekender program. Holiday rotation is required.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the registered nurse, provides direct nursing care for infant through geriatric patients on the medical/surgical units by instituting the minimum standard of care (MSOC).
MAJOR JOB FUNCTION:
1. Provides for patient’s personal hygiene.
a. Gives bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, shaves and assists with showers.
2. Provides for activities of daily living.
a. Assists with meals and feeds patients.
b. Ambulates, turns and positions patients.
c. Provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
3. Administers enemas, douches, nonsterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments and sitz and therapeutic baths.
4. Performs I&O.
